What is supplemental grade review (SGR) and how does it work?

Understanding how supplemental grade review (SGR) works to save you time

Using Supplemental Grade Reviews (SGRs) Effectively

Supplemental Grade Reviews (SGRs) are another powerful feature of Trestle, designed to ensure you only get notified about items that need your attention, eliminating the need to manually review every line of every submission. Here’s how to make the most of SGRs:

  • Custom Notifications: SGRs allow you to specify which questions to monitor and the type of vendor response that should trigger a notification. This ensures you’re alerted to critical details without unnecessary noise.
  • Criteria-Specific SGRs: Each prequalification criteria can have unique SGR settings. For instance, even if the same legal question appears in multiple criteria, you can assign different team members to review responses based on the criteria.
  • Custom Responses for Vendors: With SGRs, you can send tailored responses back to vendors, streamlining communication and providing clear next steps.
  • Individual Reviewer Assignments: Only one team member can be assigned to review a specific question response. For example:
    • If the question is "Do you have union affiliations?", John can be assigned to review "No" responses, while Tiffany can be assigned to review "Yes" responses.
  • Grade Overrides: SGRs have the capability to override automatically issued grades. For example, if a vendor fails based on your requirements, but an SGR is in place for review, the assigned reviewer can change the grade from "Fail" to "Pass."
  • Activity Tracking: All SGR actions are recorded in detailed reports. This transparency allows you to see whether a grade was automated or manually updated by a team member.
  • Admin Management: Admins can update SGR settings and assign team members to specific questions. To assign reviewers, simply add them to the “Reviewer” section on the right side of the relevant question in the prequalification criteria.

By configuring and using SGRs effectively, you can focus on critical issues, streamline your review process, and ensure that grades accurately reflect your organization’s standards.

How To Assign Team Members to SGRs

Any question within a criteria that has the designation "Auto" in the Reviewer column can also have a SGR assignment.

To make an assignment, simply click on the word "Auto" and a pop up will appear with available team members. To replace a team member, simply click on their avatar and follow the same steps as initial assignment
