Deleting or Archiving Prequalification Criteria in Trestle
One of the standout features of Trestle prequalifications is its flexibility. You can create as many prequalification criteria as needed to suit your organization’s unique requirements. However, as your processes evolve, you might find it necessary to reduce the number of criteria in your system or discontinue using certain ones.
Trestle provides two options for managing unused prequalification criteria: deleting and archiving.
Deleting Prequalification Criteria
Deleting criteria is a permanent action. Once a criteria set is deleted, it cannot be recovered. This option is ideal when you’re sure a specific criteria is no longer relevant or needed.
Steps to Delete a Criteria:
- Navigate to the Prequalification Criteria section in Trestle.
- Select the criteria you wish to delete.
- Click on the Delete option.
- Confirm your choice to complete the deletion process.

Important Considerations:
- Deleted criteria cannot be restored.
- Criteria that already have a graded submission cannot be deleted and only archived
Archiving Prequalification Criteria
Archiving is a more flexible option if you want to stop using a criteria without permanently removing it. Archived criteria are stored in your system but are no longer active or visible to vendors.
Steps to Archive a Criteria:
- Go to the Prequalification Criteria section.
- Select the criteria you want to archive.
- Click on the Archive option.
- Confirm your selection to archive the criteria.

Benefits of Archiving:
- Archived criteria can be reactivated later if needed.
- Historical data and vendor submissions remain accessible for reporting or compliance purposes.
Choosing Between Deleting and Archiving
- Delete criteria when it’s incorrect or irrelevant and you’re confident it will not be needed again.
- Archive criteria if there’s a chance you’ll need to reference or reactivate it in the future.
By effectively managing your prequalification criteria, you can keep your system organized, ensure compliance, and adapt to the changing needs of your organization.
